About the Golden Service Awards

The set

Founded in 1991, the Golden Service Awards have grown at great speed.  In the beginning, less than 40 finalists, judges, sponsors and press were present at the first year’s lunch.  This year, 600 guests were welcomed at the awards ceremony at the Lancaster London hotel on Friday 4th November 2011, which is a clear indication of the respect and recognition the Awards have earned since their humble start.

20th Anniversary in the UK

Acknowledged internationally as the hallmark of quality and a powerful tool in the promotion of excellence, the Golden Service Awards are also run in Benelux and South Africa.  This year’s Golden Service Awards - the 20th anniversary of the programme in the UK - received a total of 133 entries from across the UK and Ireland.  Judges selected 79 finalists from which 19 winners were chosen.
