Impressive Number of Entries for 2009

The organisers of the Golden Services Awards 2009 are proud to announce that this year’s programme attracted an impressive number of entries from both large and small as well as in-house and contract cleaning companies throughout the UK. In all, there were 138 entries for the fifteen categories and certain categories, such as C&M’s Best Cleaned Premises – Offices Above 15,000 sq. ft. attracted 38 entries alone.
“We did think that the economic climate would effect this year’s results but that hasn’t been the case at all,” said Michel Le Borgne, Marketing Manager, UK & Ireland at KIMBERLY-CLARK PROFESSIONAL*. “The judges are now in the process of conducting the site visits and from the quality of the submissions we received we know it will be a hard task for them to determine the final winners,” Michel added.
In addition to the large number of entries received overall, the Golden Service Awards 2009 organisers were pleased to see some excellent entries for the Service Delivery Innovation of the Year category which is new this year.
Initial Judging was based on the entry form submission. From this, a number of finalists were selected in each category. The first stage of judging was carried out by an independent panel including representatives from Cleaning & Maintenance Magazine, The Cleaning and Support Services Association, The British Cleaning Council and the British Institute of Cleaning Science.
Innovation, staff management, training and client relationship were among the main criteria which was assessed and it was not the size of a business that was judged but the quality of the service provided.
The winners will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony at the Lancaster London hotel on Friday 30 October 2009. Comedian Rhod Gilbert will be performing.
